Welcome, In this third-quarter recap, we offer two examples of how we're staying on top of current strategies that can help our valued NEMT fleet clients grow and prosper. We also cover a serious issue for any fleet serving schools and students. The S.W.A.N. team also has some fun at the gridiron and shares a national look at our national network of fleets. Two important annual events have consistently provided excellent opportunities to gain insights on the overall industry, on the fleets that provide exemplary service, and on key topics for professional development. One of these is the NEMTAC Transform Conference. A very special highlight of that experience this year was our videotaping of 10 informative interviews from NEMT thought leaders. They will be featured on our YouTube channel, with the first episode available now (details and links below). Another important event coming up in November is the Mobilize 2025 conference hosted by The Transportation Alliance (TTA). Established in 1917, TTA is a non-profit trade association of and for the private passenger transportation industry. In the field (literally) of having fun, we recently attended an NFL game between the Kansas City Chiefs and the Baltimore Ravens. It was an exciting experience courtesy of IFPS, our partner in providing premium financing solutions. Lastly, on a more serious note, we call your attention to a subject that is an absolute must for fleets serving schools and students: making sure to have SAM insurance coverage for sexual abuse and molestation claims that hopefully will never arise. NEMTAC Conference Yields Videos with 10 Industry Thought Leaders As we do each year, we recently attended the NEMTAC Transform Conference held in Dallas. It's a tremendous opportunity to gain new insights for enhancing the health and safety of people needing transport at a critical time. To capture some of that expertise, this year we engaged a videographer to record candid interviews with 10 NEMT fleet operators and owners from across the country. If You Serve Schools and Students, Make Sure You Have SAM Coverage There are many types of organizations that may require non-emergency medical transportation. Among those are schools that periodically have students needing those services. An NEMT fleet should be aware of special considerations when serving this population. Schools are facing significant challenges in terms of reliable transportation for their students. Due to budget shortfalls, staff are taking time from core duties and parents are missing work to support this transportation need. When a non-emergency medical situation arises, the lack of resources clearly stands out. Filling that gap can be the role of an NEMT provider. They can lend assistance when needed to relieve busy staff and parents. More importantly, these fleets have the specialized equipment and trained professionals to ensure the safety of those in transit. A significant concern for NEMT fleets serving students is having Sexual Abuse and Molestation (SAM) coverage in place. This is obviously a highly sensitive issue and needs to be addressed, since problems can open a fleet up to significant liabilities. Qualifying for this kind of coverage can entail demonstrating that several factors have been addressed. Those may include written policies, staff training, criminal background checks, and an incident reporting procedure. If you are now or plan to be working with schools and students, we can help guide and prepare you for appropriate SAM coverage. Mobilize 2025 to Convene Leaders in Ground Transportation in Vegas We'll be attending the Mobilize 2025 event hosted by The Transportation Alliance (TTA) in early November in Las Vegas. The organization's 107th annual convention and expo is the premier event of the year for the ground transportation industry. S.W.A.N. is pleased to be an official TTA Solution Provider. Industry segments represented will include micro-transit, NEMT, taxi, paratransit, black car, shuttle service, and student transportation. The event will feature exhibits from leading companies in the industry plus highly informative professional education sessions.
