Grow Your Transportation Business With S.W.A.N. | Insurance Industry Update - September 2026
S.W.A.N. News Welcome,

Helping fleets grow and prosper is an exciting endeavor that covers many different segments with different needs. Spending quality time with our industry peers and customers gives us the opportunity to stay on top of industry trends and best practices.

Below you'll find a report on our experience at the recent NEMTAC Transform Conference in Orlando, Fla. We were very pleased to be honored with some special recognition from the show hosts. And we again interviewed industry thought leaders for our ongoing video series.

Marc Crawford, our Director of Transportation, will be attending Mobilize 2026 in Anaheim, Calif., next month. Hosted by The Transportation Alliance, the event is billed as "Where the transformative world of private passenger ground transportation converges under one roof!"

In addition, I'll be representing our company and our fleet customers at this year's TMPAA Summit hosted by the Target Markets Program Administrators Association in Scottsdale, Ariz. The October gathering includes program administrators, carriers and service providers.

In the Cross Border realm, we recently hosted a group of fleet owners for a client appreciation outing at a San Diego Padres baseball game. We had a fantastic time catching up with old friends and meeting new ones in this industry segment that has been in the news lately.

For example, news outlets reported earlier this month on a protest by truckers at the Calexico East-Mexicali border crossing. The issue driving this action involves cabotage enforcement and B-1 visas. We will continue to monitor the situation and assist our fleet customers with driver safety and other compliance programs.

Also in this month's issue, we reinforce the value of our designation as a preferred insurance provider and member of the Highway Certified Network. And we share information on enhancing your resources for telematics and driver safety.

Until next month, we appreciate your being part of our S.W.A.N. community. We welcome your input on how we can support you as you grow your business. As always, we're here to help you Sleep Well At Night. Simply reply to this email or contact us online by clicking here.

Thank you,
Chris Mahlberg

Certified Agency Status Helps Carriers & Brokers

As a member of the Highway Certified Insurance Agency network, we are in a prime position to assist our fleet customers obtain preferred and/or extra insurance coverage for their freight operations.

The program was created to encourage critical factors such as transparency, accountability and enforceable standards in the industry. Acceptance of insurance providers into the program is based on an evaluation of best practices for accuracy, completeness and timeliness of data - S.W.A.N. is proud to be one of the select few chosen to participate in this program.

Potential benefits for freight carriers include faster approvals, fewer compliance delays, and a stronger position with brokers placing loads.

For brokers, they can see better insurance information when selecting carriers, less exposure to fraud, and incorporation of certification into their compliance workflows.

In addition to standard insurance plans for freight carriers, S.W.A.N. offers UIAA-compliant coverage for drayage, air freight and warehousing. These programs support rail, port and airport access for protection at every step of the process.

We invite you to learn more about these solutions at the buttons below and to contact us when you're ready to explore how S.W.A.N. can help you level up and grow your business.

Recognition & New Videos

The NEMTAC Transform Conference is the pivotal event for the NEMT industry every year and has become a focal point for our efforts in this vital segment of the medical transportation business.

Conference attendees span professionals in the industry including brokers, providers, payers, regulators and technology partners who are there to explore the trends, tools and innovations shaping the future of healthcare transportation.

A significant high point of this year's conference was being honored as NEMTAC's Exhibitor of the Year for 2026. We are very proud of this achievement and for the industry's support of our efforts.

Another noteworthy aspect of our activities at the conference was recording a new set of short-form video interviews at our booth with NEMT industry thought leaders. Stay tuned, as these will be added to our library of last year's segments on our YouTube channel. We're confident these stories will offer valuable insights around how NEMT fleet owners and operators may evolve their business.

If you or someone you know could benefit from a conversation with NEMT experts, we would welcome the introduction and look forward to helping you Sleep Well At Night.

S.W.A.N. News Telematics & Safety Culture
Require Planning & Training

Today, telematics are a pervasive presence with fleets across industry segments. One function they provide for fleet owners is real-time alerts of unusual driving activity or potential accidents. We can assist you in turning these alerts into quick and effective claim responses.

Here are some basic questions to ask when implementing a telematics program:

• What kind of coaching and training plan is in place?
• How do you maintain a positive work environment?
• How does your safety culture work?

S.W.A.N. has developed programs designed to help you establish and maintain a positive safety culture for your drivers without making them feel like "big brother" is watching over their shoulder.

We can help you stay positive during coaching sessions, avoid the topic of safety as a "punishment," and other aspects of building a collaborative environment around safety.

Contact us today and explore how you can save and grow your business.
